Job Description:

Supports organizational growth by championing change initiatives and providing guidance for team members.

Develops and implements strategies to retain a strong workforce and promote the organization as an employer of choice.

Provides coaching, counseling, and career development support to team members.
-
Contacts team members who have applied internally to guide them through the internal hiring process or advise them on other career opportunities within the organization.
-
Engages with employees who have submitted their notice or are identified by HR for career advisement.
-
Develops and maintains relationships with current employees to advise them on career opportunities within the organization. Conducts “stay” interviews to strengthen employee retention strategies.

Assists employees with career pathing and professional development opportunities. Other duties as assigned.

Customer service – retention specialists need excellent client or customer service skills to successfully assist and interact with employees [Required]

Patience – this role requires a high degree of patience, as retention specialists need to gather information related to employee dissatisfaction and determine how to best resolve the situation [Required]

Conflict resolution – retention specialists need to be skilled at conflict resolution and should be able to navigate situations where employees are unhappy with the company [Required]

Problem-solving skills – effective problem-solving is central to this position. Retention specialists need to think on their feet to provide solutions to employee issues or employee complaints [Required]

Communication skills – retention specialists should also be strong written and verbal communicators, since they tend to speak with employees on the phone or with employees in person. They often need to prepare reports, as well [Required]

Organization skills – organization is also key in this role, because retention specialists must maintain detailed records of interactions [Required]

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet-based recruitment / sourcing tools such as job boards, social recruitment sites and candidate relationship management systems; overall strong technical proficiency [Preferred]

Knowledge of ATS or CRM, or any Talent Management tools [Preferred]
Education:
-
Bachelor's [Required], preferably in Nursing
Work Experience:
-
4+ years of nursing experience working in an acute care setting [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:
-
Registered Nurse (RN) [Preferred]
