Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Opportunity available in Altamonte, FL. AdventHealth Medical Group (https://www.fhmedicalgroup.com/) is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to work in our Level II NICU. The neonatal nurse practitioner in collaboration with the neonatology will cover the 10 bed level 2 NICU at Altamonte.

General Summary:

  • The NNP is responsible for providing care for NICU and Newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice

  • Evaluate patients, perform procedures, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist

  • Communicate with parents, other specialists and among NICU team

  • Monitoring specialized equipment, including incubators and ventilators

  • Providing education and support to patients’ families regarding neonatal, intensive and, postpartum care

  • Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a physician

  • Performing diagnostic tests and other procedures, such as intubation and blood draws

  • Ensuring proper feeding and basic care

Schedule Details:

  • 16-hour night shifts

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with Neonatal Certification (required)

  • 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as an RN (highly preferred)

  • 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as a Neonatal APRN (preferred but not required)

Required Licensure and Certification:

  • Must hold a valid Florida APRN or PA License with Neonatal certification

  • Certification through ANCC, or other nationally recognized certifying body

  • NRP certification
