The role you’ll contribute:

The Director of Revenue Cycle, GLR Medical Group is the strategic leader for all revenue cycle functions and activities with the goal of optimizing revenue. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with third party payor requirements as well as all applicable state/federal laws and regulations. The Director is accountable to achieve best practice KPIs for revenue cycle management, including self-pay collection. This position function as the liaison for Athena, R1 RCM, and Practice Directors and to ensure operating teams have the knowledge, tools, and resources to achieve results. The Director plans, implements, re-evaluates, and provides recommendations for physician practice revenue cycle process improvement initiatives, including overall assessment of performance and application of current and future technologies.

• Directs Medical Group revenue cycle activities, ensuring optimal procedures and performance• Provides oversight, training, and leadership for revenue cycle management

• Analyzes accounts receivable and denial reports to identify and develop system and IT Supports Revenue Cycle and Organizational initiatives to optimize and expedite reimbursement.

• Develops, implements, and maintains functional specific administrative and operating policies and procedures ensuring consistency within other areas of Revenue Cycle.

•Strong knowledge of Athena Registration and Billing functionality

•Oversight of registration, insurance eligibility, charge services and billing

•Denial avoidance and management

•Provides consultation services and evaluation of revenue cycle functions including recommendations for process performance improvement initiatives.

•Collaborates with practices' leadership in formulating goals

•Works in collaboration with various departments on strategies designed to reduce revenue cycle defects for practices.

•Provides oversight for implementation and utilization of Athena Collector and other revenue cycle software utilized by AHS.

•Assists Finance and Operations with development and monitoring of AHS PE Key Performance Indicators, Dashboards, Scorecards, and best practices.

•Participates on and contributes to various corporate committees and assigned task forces.

•Responsible for at least monthly, formal meetings with Practice Directors.

•Promotes the mission of Adventist Health System in all encounters.

•Develop and maintain knowledge of payer billing requirements and ensure the operating teams are complying in a manner to ensure proper and timely reimbursement.

•Develop and maintain an understanding of Federal, State, local and industry regulations, rules, and standards to ensure compliance with requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, JCAHS, etc.)

•Develop plans and initiate actions to ensure compliance with organizational targets and standards for revenue cycle activities.

•Implement and enforce the application of AHS developed revenue cycle policies and procedures.

•Develop and implement quality initiatives (continuous quality improvement) and participate in strategic planning as needed.

• Serves as a coach within direct areas of responsibility as well as other areas of revenue cycle.

• Consistently promotes and supports a team approach to innovation in programs and problem solving both within functional area of responsibility and in collaboration with other Healthcare Finance and non-Healthcare Finance stakeholder departments.

•Effectively analyzes revenue cycle processes and communicates findings/analysis to various audiences, including but not limited to PE management and regional finance committee(s), physician committees, utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, etc.

•Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:

•Strong knowledge of all aspects of the physician practice revenue cycle.

•Competency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point.

•Ability to function independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with all levels in the organization

•Drive processes to completion

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelors and 5+ years’ experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

•10 years of experience in healthcare receivables, patient access management, or related field

• Master's Degree in Business Finance or Healthcare Management

•5 Years management experience
