The role you’ll contribute:

The Simulation Technologist assists with the planning and execution of all operational and technical aspects of simulated learning activities, simulation-based education, and scenario-based training for the AdventHealth American Heart Training Center, the AdventHealth Central Florida Division system, and associated programs/partners, including Graduate Medical Education, and AdventHealth University. The Simulation Technologist helps facilitate all aspects of the operation, support, and movement of all AdventHealth Learning Technologies, Simulation & Training equipment, such as the human patient simulator systems, simulation task trainers, associated medical equipment, and computer/audiovisual systems.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • SIMULATION EXERCISE/COURSE/SCENARIO PREPARATION: Supports all aspects of the simulated learning environment before and after exercises. Assists with the preparation, delivery, setup, tear-down, and maintenance of simulation equipment and supplies. Facilitates the preparation, setup, and tear-down of AdventHealth’s various simulated learning environments. Assists with role playing applications, to include moulage and prop/equipment placement.

  • SIMULATION OPERATION: Operates all human patient simulator systems, simulation task trainers, associated medical equipment, and computer/audiovisual equipment during simulation training exercises. Programs, tests, and runs scenarios with simulation staff, facilitators, and instructors to ensure equipment is operational. During training exercises, the Simulation Technologist directly interacts with the participants, makes appropriate adjustments to the scenario, and provides responses, via simulator operation, based on participant feedback and actions. Assists with participant wayfinding and movement during training exercises. Facilitates operational and technical aspects of post-exercise debriefings.

  • CAMPUS/PROGRAM LIAISON: Serves as a liaison to campuses/programs for technical assistance and expertise related to operational and technical aspects of simulators and computer/audiovisual equipment for simulation-based learning. Provides assistance to customers for simulated learning preparation, set-up, course/scenario facilitation, debriefing, and post-exercise break down/clean up.

  • SIMULATION TECHNICAL TRAINING: Assists with train-the-trainer education sessions to train instructors and facilitators to operate simulators, computer/audiovisual software and associated equipment. Provides hands-on expertise on simulators and associated equipment as needed.


The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:


  • High School diploma or equivalent background.


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in simulation/technology/education/business or applicable discipline.

  • One to three years of experience in direct patient care within hospital or clinical setting.

  • One to three years of experience in simulation operation/education/training.

  • Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Department Technician.


  • Florida Class E Driver’s License and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth Policy.


  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.

  • If clinical, current, active State of Florida license in specialty.
