The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of staff and education programs, Transformational leader with ability to communicate effectively and rise up an education team. Is a consultant, leader, and researcher. Responsible for ongoing staff development that aligns with organizational goals.

  • Designs and implements clinical education programs that support the goals of providing high quality patient care, a safe environment, and job satisfaction.

  • Establishes goals and objectives for the education department; goals are developed from annual needs assessment, organization vision, meeting with education department and nursing leadership, Quality and Risk team, staff feedback, medical staff feedback, data review and regulatory requirements.

  • Discusses and reviews daily activities with supervised employees to ensure direction of activities meet needs and determine if additional resources are required; delegates assignments as appropriate to supervised team.

  • Plans and develops a schedule of monthly educational offerings in coordination with educators, hospital department directors and others as needs are assessed and planned. Ensures the calendar of events is published and distributed. Monitors attendance in relation to registration to determine appropriate adjustments in scheduling. Assesses feedback on educational offerings and revises as appropriate.

  • Develops and implements annual house wide education to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Oversees employees’ education completion utilizing electronic software.

  • Coordinates and oversees affiliation agreements with colleges, universities to ensure all requirements for student clinical rotation are set.

  • Attends scheduled leadership meetings as instructed at both the campus and division level

  • Supports activities involving education recruiting efforts. Visits area schools and or attends post conference with in-house clinical students.

  • Participates in opportunities with aligned nursing schools; advisory board; committee; council

  • Oversees student clinical rotation process, placement, and coordination with nursing leaders

  • Manages activities of geographical service line educators in coordination with nursing and patient care department leadership to meet department needs.

  • Oversees the coordination of ACLS/BLS training for all qualified hospital organization personnel via the RQI platform.

  • Manages activities of Clinical Coordinator to assist with preparation of class materials, schedules, and computer-based learning platform to ensure efficient execution of office procedures

  • Collaborates with Clinical Coordinator to ensure CE credits are awarded as supported by program

  • Manages contracts with RQI, CE Broker and CE Direct.

  • Performs leadership functions in the Professional Development Department including coaching, counseling, interviewing, hiring and evaluation, complete performance evaluations in a timely manner.

  • Provides opportunity for learning within the Professional Development team; supports the PEP owning the advancement within the team based on activities completed successfully.

  • Works collaboratively with departments including but not limited to Quality, Risk, Infection Control, to improve the quality and safety of patient care.

  • Supports the Preceptor program understanding content and collaborates with nursing leadership to ensure attendance and growth

  • Collaborates with Learning Operation Manager overseeing Nurse Residency Clinical Educator at the campus level

  • Ensures appropriate documentation and storage of all education and training.

  • Provides guidance and direction to Nurse Managers, Directors, and Chief Nursing Officer to ensure consistency and continuity of nursing practice across the organization.

  • Analyzes data for use in strategic planning.

  • Promotes positive staff recognition throughout the year.

  • Directs, development and maintains competency both initial and annual for each clinical and non-clinical department.

  • Oversees completion of timecards and payroll by Clinical Coordinator in accordance with payroll schedule; approves PDO as it aligns with educational support needed.

  • Collaborates with finance team to set and follow through on allotted budget.

  • Coordinates skills fair annually with nursing leadership.

  • Engages in WFD initiatives as provided by Director of Education and Onboarding

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications :

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience

  • Minimum of 3 years education experience in the hospital setting

  • Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent degree enrolled within 1 years of accepted position

  • Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement

  • Current in American Heart Association Basic Life Support

  • NPD-BC Certification within one year of hire
