The role you’ll contribute:

The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Staff RN demonstrates a specific knowledge base and clinical expertise in chronic wound care. Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care of chronic wounds. Provides direct and indirect patient care. Acts as a resource person for physician, nursing staff, other health care professionals and agencies in the community.

· Demonstrates effective assessment skills to ensure quality patient care is provided.

· Performs and documents accurate initial assessment per unit standard which may include: initial observation, obtaining and interpreting information in terms of the patients’ needs and safety. Reports appropriate information in a timely manner to responsible physician.

· Utilizes clinical data to implement appropriate interventions.

· Operates the Hyperbaric Chamber and supervises the patient throughout the hyperbaric treatment.

· Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Demonstrates accurate documentation and monitoring of activities as needed. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.

· Communicates timely and accurate physician directions to patient via telephone call as directed.

· Provides follow-up to patient/family by telephone as requested/needed.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

• Minimum qualifications :

· Demonstrate outstanding clinical skills within the scope of duties defined by the respective license.

· Active Florida RN license required.

· Minimum of 2 years Med-Surg/ICU experience.

· Current Florida RN licensure or LPN licensure with wound care certification.

· Basic Life Support (BLS)

Certified wound care RN

• Preferred qualifications:

o Clinical experience in wound care is preferred.

o Previous experience with Hyberbaric unit operation preferred and/or successful completion of in-house training program.
