Schedule: PRN Shift: Day

Location: AdventHealth Porter

The role you'll contribute:

EKG Technician performs inpatient and outpatient 12 Lead electrocardiograph recordings, holter/event monitor placement/scanning as needed, and treadmill stress testing along with related documentation.

The value you'll bring to the team:

  • Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and machine calibration; informs biomed when malfunctions occur.

  • Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual heart rhythms or patient response by informing primary health care team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcome.

  • Promptly trouble-shoots and corrects recording instrument malfunction or unusual patient problems which interfere with the recordings.

  • Processes patient and department records ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards.

  • Confirms that appropriate patient information is present and complete prior to starting a procedure. Confirms patient identification and understanding of procedure.

  • Performs thorough and accurate routine and emergency EKGs as ordered by physician.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Successful completion of established EKG exam during orientation or within 6 months, and annually thereafter.

  • Previous patient care experience; on the job training.

  • Current BLS certification required from American Heart Association

  • Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) OR Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 18 months of starting this role with any AdventHealth facility.
