We are seeking an experienced Certified Physician Assistant, PA-C to join a growing Neuroscience program at an established Neurology practice comprised of two physicians. The role involves neurological medical management of patients based in an outpatient practice at AdventHealth DeLand. This individual would work in an outpatient only setting. There will be NO inpatient rounding. Candidate will work in only one designated office location at AdventHealth DeLand. 

General Summary:

The PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

•    Performing histories and physical exams on neurology patients in the office
•    Ramp up independent patient management
•    Practice call coverage
•    Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as laboratory, X-ray, MRI, etc.
•    Assisting patient and family with pre- and post-procedural education
•    Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and places orders for referral to the appropriate specialist
•    Collaborating with physician and staff to provide consistent care to the patients
•    Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
•    Research and database maintenance

Schedule Details:

•    Schedule is Monday – Friday for office and call on some weekends
•    Call is shared Q:3, 10 days/month, practice call only  

Knowledge and Skills Required:

•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public; Strong communication skills
•    Ability to work flexible schedule including call rotation on weekends
•    Ability to excel in a clinic with high volume of patients
•    Experience as a PA and preferably in Neurology 

Required Education/Experience:

•    Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies
•    Experience as a PA-C in Neurology (highly preferred)

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

•    Current, valid Florida PA license
•    NCCPA (or equivalent) certification
•    BLS and ACLS required
