Work Hours/Shift:

PRN Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide direct care to patients under the direction of licensed personnel.
  • Maintains current knowledge and competencies.
  • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department / unit team to facilitate the departments / units ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the AMC unit, as defined in the scope of service, to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
  • Other duties as business needs arise.
Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Takes vital signs
  • Removes dressings
  • Escorts patients in & out of department
  • Assists patients in transport in & out of department
  • Sets up charts for new patients
  • Files reports in patients’ charts
  • Transcribes orders into EMR as needed to facilitate care & treatment
  • Handles multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
  • Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and computers preferred.
  • Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
  • Works alone effectively.
  • Fluent in the English language (spoken and written).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
  • Computer experience and knowledge of basic applications required. 
  • Highly developed social and communication skills required

Job Summary:

Responsible for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department. Observes any patient on the unit who has been assessed to require constant observation in order to maximize his or her safety.
