AdventHealth Hope & Healing Center is a Level II Residential Treatment Facility and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for individuals that have Substance Use Disorder. This is the first program of its kind for AdventHealth and is designed to reduce overdoses and deaths in the community by implementing evidence-based prevention, creating residential beds, intensive outpatient treatment, providing medication-assisted treatment (MAT), delivering recovery support services for substance use disorder patients, and establishing treatment options for future diversion programs.
As part of AdventHealth Hope & Healing treatment, clients will receive amazing care which consists of individual counseling, group counseling, and counseling with families or support systems. In addition to clinical therapy the program includes substance-related and recovery-focused education, such as strategies for avoiding substance use or relapse, information regarding health problems related to substance use, motivational enhancement, and strategies for achieving a substance-free lifestyle. The goal is to learn life skills training, such as anger management, communication skills, employability skills, problem solving, relapse prevention, recovery management, decision-making, relationship skills, and symptom management to aid in living a healthy lifestyle free of substances.

Our holistic environment and patient-centered care allows us to provide the care that will assist our clients in living a healthy and productive substance-free lifestyle.  
Work Hours/Shift:   
PRN/Nights 7p - 7a
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL)
  • Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions
  • Observes and records patient behaviors and activities
  • Reports changes in patient conditions to appropriate personnel and recommends treatment plan modifications
  • Establishes therapeutic relationships with assigned patients
  • Works directly with patients, family members, physicians, and community providers to ensure collaborative and continuous care
  • May be required to manage daily group activities
  • Assists patients to perform routine activities of daily living
  • Recognizes potential escalation of behavior and has ability to use appropriate verbal and physical interventions
  • Recognizes potential safety hazards, intervenes for the safety of patients, visitors and staff and notifies appropriate department or person for correction of the problem
  • Assists in restraint situations: utilizing de-escalation skills to prevent restraints, applying restraints when needed with RN direction, maintaining patient safety, appropriate documentation of patient behaviors and interventions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
  • Aggression Management certification required during orientation
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate appropriately professionally and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
  • Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws
  • Ability to understand and process instructions from physicians and other personnel
  • Proficiency in computer systems to enter and track patient records
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
Preferred:
  • Associate's degree or Technical degree in a related field, or specific certification related to position
  • One year of healthcare setting
