You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Performs interpretation, analysis and collection of extended clinical information and performs data entry, data verification and reconciliation procedures according to department protocol for completing follow-up activities of cancer patients according to ACOS and FCDS guidelines. (approx. 65-70%)
  • Coordinates  multi-disciplinary Tumor Board/Cancer Conferences, maintaining required documentations, monitoring required attendance and case discussion to support the Accreditation Program Standards of the Commission on Cancer (COC)  and the National Accreditation Program For Breast Centers (NAPBC).
  • Provides assistance in case identification process through reports from Pathology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and the hospital?s disease index. 
  • Completes requests from other hospitals seeking follow-up information of information of shared patients according to department  and hospital procedures to ensure compliance with policies  from other hospitals seeking follow-up information of shared patients
  • Assists Department with projects, as requested, to support accreditation programs.
  • Performs interpretation, analysis and collection of extended clinical information, data verification and reconciliation procedures according to department protocol for all initial cases of cancer patients according to ACOS and FCDS reporting guidelines. (up to approx. 20%)
  • Generates and provides statistical reports of work and compliance to COC/NAPBC standards.
  • Maintains inter-office and inter-departmental relationships by assisting with various Cancer Program activities including but not limited to Cancer Conference, Cancer Care Committee Meetings and QI initiatives.  Some conferences are scheduled for evenings.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal development to ensure current knowledge in the Cancer Registry profession.
  • Travel between sites is required.


Qualifications
What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Experience with computerized registry systems and computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheet; presentation software and graphics).
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology required
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use machines, tools, equipment and work aids as necessary to perform job duties.   Set up LCD projector for meetings.
  • Understanding of cancer diagnosis and therapeutic services preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associate?s degree in health related field required or 60 hours of College completed, Bachelor's degree preferred; 
  • Experience with computerized registry systems and computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheet; presentation software and graphics).
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use machines, tools, equipment and work aids as necessary to perform job duties, i.e., set up LCD projector

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • RHIT, RHIA, RN, LPN; RRT; RTT
  • 1-2 years working in cancer program performing case identification, follow-up and cancer conference activities
  • Certification / licensure:   CTR Eligible
  • Understanding of cancer diagnosis and therapeutic services.
 
Job Summary:

Responsible for performing follow-up activities of cancer patients according to ACOS and FCDS guidelines by analyzing and collecting extensive clinical information from hospitals and other sources outside of our corporation.   Coordinates Cancer Care Conferences / Tumor Boards; maintaining required documentation to support accreditation programs of COC and NAPBC.  Provides assistance in case identification process through reports from Pathology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and the hospital?s disease index.  Travel between sites is required.    This position contributes to meeting pertinent goals and objectives of AdventHealth Daytona Cancer Program.
