Work Hours/Shift:

Full time days, 40 hours per week

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Implements Quality Assessment / Performance Improvement Program

o Serves as primary owner of standard QAPI reporting and committee operations including department reporting schedule, coordination and communication across the organization.

o Supports training departments on QAPI program, reporting tools, build and maintenance.

o Serves as primary owner of the Master Report Schedule (MRS) by owning updates, accuracy and general maintenance to reflect current state.

o Works with departments to help identify problem situations or inadequate conditions and extends training ideas / recommendations to help determine root cause and implement corrective action where appropriate.

o Works with departments to identify improvement measures to monitor for those things that matter most.

o Assists with training and administration of continuous improvement activities that will drive PDCA, Lean and other improvement methodologies and tools throughout the organization.

o Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

• Implements Performance Improvement (PI) Projects

o Serves as a PI specialist by working collaboratively with management and staff across the organization by performing operational process assessments and analysis, researching and identifying best practices to improve operating processes toward greater efficiencies.

o Facilitates Rapid Process Improvement activities, utilizing Lean healthcare tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen events, Rapid Process Improvement Workshops (RPIW), A3 Problem Solving and root cause analysis.

o Facilitates / assists training blitzes, Gemba Walks, standard work, creation of schedules and follow up as needed.

o Assists in the creation of training materials, educational flyers, data collection and analysis tools and serves as a trainer for performance improvement activities.

o Assists with the identification of problem situations or inadequate process conditions and extends training and recommendations to help determine the root cause and implement corrective action.

o Assists leadership to determine and track quality indicator and financial impact of improvement activities.

§ Works with teams and departments on data gathering and reporting for project metrics as well as supplying updated data as needed.

§ Assists with creating and implementing Huddle Boards throughout the facility and supports maintenance of updating and posting results and data.

§ Serves as subject matter expert on restraint usage, documentation audits, reporting tools and assists users with documentation as needed.

• Effectively communicates upcoming news and events to team members or any staff as needed.

• Assists with documentation of meeting/event key information and outcomes. Assists with follow-up as needed.

• Consistently identifies and assist with promoting and communicating PI/Transformation news through posters, population of Connect site, story boards and other means determined.

• Assists associates/teams/departments with follow through and completion of actions plans related to identified issues, including follow up to measures of effectiveness.

• Is readily available for questions and handles requests in a courteous and respectful manner.

• Utilizes Performance Improvement model.

• Collects, aggregates, analyzes, summarizes and reports quality data for hospital organizational performance and physician performance data as indicated.

• Develops data reports for projects, committees, hospital departments and medical staff departments as delegated.

• Participates in hospital wide outcomes and quality improvement initiatives.

• Assists in efforts to improve and streamline the process and workflow of the department.

• Demonstrates the ability to set appropriate priorities.

• Recognizes how absence impacts the functioning of the healthcare team and strives to minimize this effort.

• When requested, is willing to adjust personal schedule in order to complete workload when necessary.

• Attends educational offerings as needed to promote continuous learning and support to department.

• Reviews daily chart audit data. 

• Follows up with staff and / or physicians to ensure data and / or documentation is completed appropriately. Provide education as necessary. 

• Follows up on Risk Management events related to quality. 

• Facilitates annual goal development in collaboration with other stakeholders. 

• Participates in active communication with medical staff. 

• Participates in or leads hospital and departmental committees.


What You Will Need: 

Strong Communication skills to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing required.

Excellent interpersonal skills to work with and develop supportive relationships with people at all levels required

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time and meet deadlines required

Strong presentation and facilitation skills to work with individuals and teams required  

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point and E-mail required

Additional languages preferred

Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field required

Solid healthcare data coordination and data analysis experience required

Working knowledge of both clinical and non-clinical activities and processes within a healthcare setting required

Demonstrated leadership skills required

A minimum of three years healthcare experience required

Three years of dedicated continuous improvement role utilizing Lean methodology within a healthcare setting preferred

Proven experience leading change within a healthcare setting

Lean Healthcare certification preferred

Current licensure in the state of North Carolina if applicable  

Job Summary

The Clinical Effectiveness Coordinator reports to the Operational Excellence Manager within the Office of Collaborative Improvement. The Clinical Effectiveness Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Quality Assessment / Performance Improvement program which includes assuring compliance with QAPI regulatory and accreditation standards. This position is responsible for facilitating the QAPI meetings and assisting staff at all levels of the organization to be trained and participate in the QAPI program. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of the Master Report Schedule (MRS) ensuring information is accurate and up to date. This position will partner with organizational leadership and facilitate performance improvement activities as well as on-going support across the organization. This position will assist in assessing current processes, identify areas for improvement, work with leadership to choose specific measures to monitor and review as well as work with departments to assure sustainment of improvement efforts. This position will collaborate with clinical leadership and staff to support documentation efforts and education related to restraint usage.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Effectiveness Coordinator is a specialized health care professional who collaborates with the Nursing Director and other leaders to provide leadership to the medical/surgical/telemetry and critical care departments at Park Ridge Health. The coordinator will focus on daily and long term performance outcomes and measurements of the department. Collaborates with medical leadership partner(s) to advance quality strategies, ensure a professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient satisfaction.
