Coding Operations Manager Adventhealth

Work Hours/Shift:

  •  Full Time Days

You Will Be Responsible For:  

  • Provides management of daily operations and maintains department budgets.
  • Manages the recruitment, retention, training and competence of staff and analysts.  Ensures the accuracy, timeliness, reliability, frequency, level-of-detail of staff work product. 
  • Builds and maintains relationships across multiple disciplines to achieve common goals. 
  • Manages the day to day operations of the inpatient and outpatient coding staff and functions.
  • Collaborates with physicians, clinical teams, revenue integrity and billing as it relates to coding processes and issues. 
  • Supports organizational efforts in coding/documentation improvement and achieving value based purchasing and quality outcomes.
  • Ensures departmental metrics and productivity standards are met or exceeded.


Qualifications

What You Will Need:

 
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in   understandable terms to all levels of staff
  • Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals
  • Facilitating interdepartmental communication and understanding of coding standards
  • Relationship development
  • Being adaptable and flexible of other streams of work, beyond coding responsibilities
  • Integration between clinical teams including CDI, Quality, Process Improvement and coding working towards one plan
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare related field of study OR Associates Degree plus two years of applicable experience
  • Five (5) years combined of inpatient and outpatient acute-care hospital coding experience
  • Three (3) years of supervisory/management experience
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
 
 
Job Summary:

The HIM Operations Coding Manager, provides operational oversight and direction for the inpatient and outpatient coding team and coding processes. Maintains ethical coding guidelines and ensures coding standards are met.  Lead and educate organization on coding standards.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally professional and respectful to all.
