You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Develops, organizes and, upon arrival, implements a Consumer Access training program for new hire orientation, staff development and on-the-job training across Consumer Access functions.
  • Creates and/or coordinates with corporate teams to ensure all training materials are up to date, including, but not limited to: manuals, presentations, scripts, competency tests, tip sheets.
  • Develops and maintains training schedules into the future, as applicable, to ensure all staff are well trained on a timely basis. Promotes a collaborative environment by addressing training deficiencies in a constructive and proactive manner.
  • Organizes all arrangements for location, material, etc. required for training.
  • Provides training in a classroom setting to consumer access staff, as well as temporary staff, vendors, and other hospital personnel as required. Performs one-on-one training as needed.
  • Collects feedback from trainees and assists in developing workflow design and training sessions as a result of continued consumer access process improvement.
  • Works with Consumer Access Specialists, local leadership, and corporate team to ensure current job functions and workflows are accurately reflected in the training curriculum.
  • Documents and maintains departmental employee records to ensure training requirements are fulfilled, corrective action plans can be carried out as needed, core competencies can be further defined, etc.
  • Assists local leadership in analyzing trends in organizational and individual performance data and uses information to adjust and refine training programs as needed.
  • Analyzes and evaluates, on a quantitative and/or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of Consumer Access staff in meeting goals and objectives.
  • Promotes accurate measurements and reports quality-related concerns to leadership
  • Collaborates with corporate Consumer Access Auditors to develop strategies to maintain corporate consistency and compliance

What You Will Need:


  • Understanding of hospital Revenue Cycle and its various functions
  • Maintains working knowledge of patient billing procedures
  • Intermediate knowledge of computers, programs, internet use and typing skills
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Has general understanding of managed care contracts
  • Organized/detail-oriented personality and demonstrates problem-solving skills
  • Ability to breakdown complex processes into easily understood steps and concepts
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively using the English language
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to change
  • Ability to multitask proficiently, using multiple computer systems, applications and technology

  • Previous working knowledge of revenue cycle process, insurance and benefits preferred


  • High school education or GED
  • One year of Hospital Revenue Cycle related experience


  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Two years of Hospital Revenue Cycle related experience
  • Previous experience in a related Revenue Cycle Quality or Education role


  • NAHAM Certification – CHAA or CHAM
  • CRCR Certification

Job Summary:

The Consumer Access Quality Analyst, under supervision, is responsible for operationalizing successful education programs for Consumer Access and monitoring facility adherence to established best practice workflows. Develops, plans and leads revenue cycle training initiatives. Conducts quality assurance audits on facility workflows, in coordination with corporate partners, to identify areas for improved performance of all staff..
