Work Hours/Shift:

 Full Time/Shift times will vary

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Assures that all foods are cooked to the state of being done and holds foods in safe zones,

  • Cleans and sanitizes all work environments,

  • Cooks and bakes all hot foods for patient tray line and/or cafeteria servery,

  • Modifies any food to meet various diets as required,

  • Sets up food for cafeteria server,

  • Sets up food for patient tray line,

  • Serves on patient tray line and/or cafeteria servery as directed,

  • Assists in the ordering of food stock as appropriate,

  • Must take necessary precautions and follow correct procedures for lifting and bending

  • Follows safety and sanitation rules and regulations

  • Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties

  • Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety procedures

  • Performs other job duties as assigned


Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Knowledge of HAACP standards

  • Food safety and sanitation

  • Food preparation

  • Food services kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, and dish machine among others

  • Read, write and speak English

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

  • Previous cook/baker experience preferred

Job Summary:

This is an entry level cook/baker position.  Individual maintains the responsibility for the cooking and/or baking of all hot foods including entrees, vegetables, starches, etc. for the department.  This task should be done in such a manner to ensure the highest quality of product, efficient utilization of time and cost containment.
