Work Hours/Shift:

Part Time Days

20 hours a week

You Will Be Responsible For:   

  • Demonstrates and conveys a favorable image of the Shawnee Mission Health
  • Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action
  • Follows attendance policy of the hospital
  • Maintains confidentiality of medical staff credentials and peer review files
  • Prepares statistical reports as requested by SMH departments
  • Distributes Request for Application Forms
  • Enters potential applicants into database and distributes electronic application
  • Imports application information into database and maintains integrity of the data
  • Conducts primary source verification and regularly follows up on requests
  • Submit Cerner requests following the monthly Credentials Committee Meetings
  • Submit Formstack requests following the monthly PAQC meetings

Assist with other departmental duties as needed

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • High School Education or Equivalent
  • Up to 1 Year of Position-Related Experience

Job Summary:

The Credentialing Specialist assists with the preparation and distribution of initial applications and reappointments for medical staff and allied health, assists with importing the electronic application into the credentialing database and assists in performing primary source verification.  Track quarterly time sheets for medical staff leadership. Perform other duties as requested by Medical Staff Manager
