What you will be responsible for:

The Director of Value Analysis and Supply Chain Operations is responsible for setting the strategic direction and policy for all acute care facilities in the Central Florida Division South region (CFD South) relating to supply chain initiatives.  Oversees the value analysis process, capital procurement, system supply chain operations, and local contracting for an 8-hospital system and support and convey Corporate initiatives.  Develop and support relationships with physicians, clinicians, staff, and executives to facilitate a clinically acceptable, efficient, and cost-effective Supply Chain process.   Negotiate local non-GPO contracts.  Participate in budget planning, capital planning, and growth planning. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Lead all aspects of Value Analysis and Supply Chain operations for hospital system, maintaining balance between optimal clinical outcomes, promoting excellence in quality of care with appropriate product utilization and supply stewardship.

• Lead efforts to identify, execute, and utilize data analytics platforms to benchmark and compare product costs and clinical utilization variability among members and physicians.

• Lead efforts to ensure that all corporate supply chain initiatives are implemented and sustained.

• Ensure that all local contracts for supplies and services are reviewed with appropriate recommendations to executive team.

• Work with Executive Team, Physicians, Strategic Sourcing, and Finance to mediate the political sensitivity and understand the impact a product change may have on expenses and revenue of the service line, business unit, hospital, and organization.

• Leads or supports meetings value analysis teams relative to requests for new products and technology or to address cost reduction opportunities on physician preference items; utilizing benchmark comparisons, current product costs, supply costs per physician procedure, drug & supply trend data, and other analytics as needed to present the opportunity.

COMPLIANCE/REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• Provide leadership and oversite to recall process across CFD South.

OPERATING & CAPITAL BUDGET/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

• Manage all aspects of System Supply Chain Department Budget/Expenses including Freight expense for CFD South.

• Assist in creation and management of supply budget and expenses for CFD South.

STRATEGIC PLANNING RESPONSIBILITY:

• Facilitate development of supply cost management strategies for current and future budget cycles.

PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:

• Review and deploy recommended changes annually for a minimum of one internal process.

• Support review of multi-department process and implement recommended changes that are part of the Supply Chain and Value Analysis areas.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITY:

• Actively participate in one external organization (volunteer, board member, etc).

STAFFING/LABOR/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• Lead and manage Supply Chain Operations staff (Purchasing team, Value Analysis team, Help Desk team, and System Support/Analytics team).

• Develops staff through active participation in career planning, coaching and modeled behavior.

• Manages the performance of direct reports, contributes to the team’s professional growth through feedback, coaching and support and holds team accountable for contribution

Qualifications

What you will need:

NOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong organization skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff

• Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel

• Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals

• Matrix management ability, with multitasking

• Leadership skills – ranging from entry level to manager level

• Knowledge of healthcare suppliers and Group Purchasing industry. 

• Knowledge of products, equipment, emerging technologies, and how they are deployed to provide quality patient care. 

• Knowledge of e-commerce and system applications to conduct business transactions. 

• Ability to understand, interact with, and assist service line managers in identifying and targeting supply cost management objectives.

• Knowledge of value analysis principles and how to apply within a large health system environment.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS PREFERRED:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint        

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance or healthcare related field.

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

• Master’s degree

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• A proven track record and at a minimum, 5 years leadership experience in Materials Management/Supply Chain or Value Analysis in a large tertiary, multi-hospital environment.  Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.  

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

• CMRP or Equivalent Supply Chain Certification
