You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Responsible for development, maintenance, evaluation and expansion of the bariatric service line for the West Florida Division including all aspects and segments of care.
  • Responsible for the creation and management of a WFD-Tampa Region bariatric strategy.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing plans to address gaps in performance and to address opportunities for growth and development. 
  • Responsible for the results of the bariatrics service line including employee engagement, patient experience, clinical delivery and turnaround times, physician satisfaction and engagement, market and financial results (including clinical registry results).  
  • Collaborate with facility Bariatric Services and Surgical Services leadership to establish and implement strategic business development plan, quality and operational performance metrics through engaging with the bariatric surgeons and other key stakeholders.
  • Through collaboration with medical staff and clinicians ensures an integrated, innovative approach to develop an integrated, evidence-based process of care; coordinating resources to ensure effective management of patients between and among inpatient, outpatient, emergency and diagnostic settings.
  • Ensures integration of nursing care programs, including outcome standards or key performance indicators and overall goals and objectives, with a particular focus on patient experience and team engagement. 
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the disease-specific programs or centers to meet volume, profitability, quality, and service standards to ultimately drive value across the Bariatric continuum of care. Leads interdepartmental and campus-wide initiatives to achieve improvements in clinical care processes, team engagement, patient experience, volume and financial performance.  Provides leadership to the development and management of disease-specific programs and needs on all hospital campuses, as needed.  
  • Provides volume forecast projections and impact on capital planning to Administration.
  • Collaborates with Marketing in the development of the annual Marketing Plan for the disease-specific program or Centers including any community outreach activities. Participates in clinical conferences, shadows the clinical team, and attends national meetings to maintain and develop both clinical and programmatic advances in the field.
  • In conjunction with senior leadership, collaborates with other physicians to achieve clinical results. Responsible for development and execution of all physician related contracts, in accordance with senior leadership and corporate compliance
  • Ensures the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program accreditation process is in continuous compliance with all MBSAQIP standard


Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree particularly in a clinical science—Nursing, Microbiology, Radiology or Sonography
  • Master’s degree in business, health services administration, or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience, such as Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and 5 years healthcare management experience 
  • 3 years of healthcare related management experience
  • Project management experience
  • Extensive experience facilitating and managing challenging situations, including conflict resolution and demonstration of outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Experience in facilitating high-level multidisciplinary group decisions
  • 5 years of Program administration or development experience
  • 5 years of Financial Management experience
  • 5 years of extensive management experience with tracking results in bariatric service line strategic development in an academic medical center or a tertiary hospital setting
  • 5 years of marketing and business development experience 

Job Summary:
In support of the West Florida Division vision to achieve top percentile performance clinically for the Bariatric service line, the Executive Director is responsible for oversight of the clinical and strategic development of the Bariatrics service line within the West Florida Division which includes the management of the employed Bariatric Surgeons. In this capacity, the Executive Director works collaboratively with physician and hospital leadership to create vision, goals and execution.  

This leader is responsible for transforming culture through engaging the team to deliver an exceptional patient experience, improving clinical delivery, creating effective physician partnerships so West Florida Division / Tampa Region can grow and fully develop services.   Key areas of focus include identification and resolution of important strategic delivery concerns, especially those that cross multiple hospitals and service areas, oversight of all aspects of the programs including business development and execution of operational and strategic plans to support the growth and development within the Tampa Region of West Florida Division.  The Executive Director is responsible for the results associated with employee engagement, patient experience, clinical delivery, physician satisfaction and engagement and market/financial performance.  This leader is expected to work in accordance with AH’s leadership model – support operations, demonstrate commitment to team and know and continuously improve operations.
