Work Hours/Shift

Per Diem/Variable

You will be responsible for:

  • Conducts long-term monitoring in epilepsy and intensive/critical care units
  • Measures neurological responses to external stimuli and traces electrical pathways
  • Ability to scan, correlate, and clip studies
  • Ability to observe EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity
  • Explains testing procedures to patient and family using age-appropriate guidelines
  • Performs studies with appropriate documentation, observes patients, troubleshoots equipment and physiological artifacts, and utilizes appropriate resources
  • Evaluates recorded diagnostic data and reports abnormal findings to nurses and physicians
  • Recognizes and takes appropriate actions to respond to evolving patient care needs
  • Monitors patients in Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMUs), while adhering to protocols and procedures
  • Maintains accurate archive and retrieval systems for original EEG tracings
Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Graduation from an Electroneurodiagnostics school or two years of technical experienc
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists certification as a Registered EEG Technologist preferred.

Job Summary:

Performs Electroencephalograms (EEGs), Evoked Potentials (EPs) and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) testing.
