Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Days. 40 Hours Per Week. Monday-Friday. 30 Minute Call Required.

You Will Be Responsible For:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the Physician and Nurse during procedures.

• Handles collected patient specimens with safety and accuracy

• Maintains and cleans endoscopes according to department/hospital policies, JCAHO, AHCA, SGNA and manufacturer directions. Mentors all staff for endoscope handling technique and reprocessing. Provides in-services as needed.

• Assists Nurses with bedside care of the patient. Accurately inputs information in computer.

• Manages inventory control and orders equipment and accessories as needed.

• Maintains communication with RN/LPN throughout entire shift to ensure accuracy of information and care provided.

• Provides appropriate communication with multidisciplinary team members, patients and their families.

• Promptly responds to patient's request for assistance in a professional and effective manner.

• Refers problems/concerns to appropriate personnel immediately upon patient/family request.

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Entry Level - Maintains PCT educational requirements as outlined in the organizational checklists.

• AHA BLS required.

Establishes and maintains a history of regular attendance; makes appropriate use of PDO and observes department call-in procedures for absence; establishes and maintains punctual work habits. Exhibits timely arrival and departure and dependable time habits including meal and other breaks.

Job Summary:

Provides assistance to the physicians and nurses during procedures and at the bedside to assure the highest patient and physician satisfaction and procedural outcomes. Position also manages inventory control and ordering of equipment and accessories and serves as lead technician in Endoscopy.
