Work Hours/Shift:

Part Time / Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Transports patients to and from Surgical Services.
  • Prepares patient charts for surgical and endoscopic procedures.
  • Assists physician with endoscopic procedures.
  • Explains procedure as necessary to the patient and provides emotional support. 
  • Obtains vital signs and reports abnormal results to nursing staff and appropriate physicians.  
  • Orders and stocks supplies as necessary
  • Performs EKG procedures.
  • Performs phlebotomy
  • Informs patients and family members of delays in patient care and the well-being of patients to family members throughout a patient’s visit to Surgical Services. 
  • Maintains equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to evaluator in a timely manner.
  • Accurately enters data into the computer.
  • Maintains a clean pre and post surgical environment by preparing each area after patient use and before the next business day.
  • Obtains the appropriate Pre-Admissions Testing information for patient procedures and reports any problems to the clinical manager or Anesthesia.
  • Provides safety for patients and co-workers according to hospital policy and procedures. 
  • Follows all departmental policies to provide quality care to patients and courtesy to co-workers. 
  • Develops self professionally and participates in departmental activities.
  •  Works with co-workers in a professional manner both within the department and throughout the hospital.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement process.


What You Will Need:

•         High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

•         Three to six months related experience and/or training in healthcare setting

•         BLS Certification from American Heart Association

•         Formal course in phlebotomy preferred

•         Certification in phlebotomy preferred


Job Summary:

To assist physicians and team members in providing quality patient care in a safe and efficient manner and to perform clerical duties and errands to assist the nursing staff.
