You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Collects specimens from patient using age-appropriate techniques; labels and prepares specimens for transport; performs related data entry functions in a careful and timely fashion with scrupulous attention to identification and handling.
  • Receives, evaluates, & solves problems related to specimen collection & processing, ensuring specimen integrity, so that quality results are obtained.
  • Performs waived testing according to established procedures.
  • Accurately reports test results.
  • Recognizes critical results & documents action taken according to established policies.
  • Organizes & prioritizes workflow to meet established turnaround times.
  • Uses the LIS efficiently to register patients, order tests & obtain information, in keeping with established protocols.

  • Enhances technical & professional knowledge in one or more aspects of laboratory medicine by participation in mandatory & continuing education opportunities.

  • Maintain all patient information files related to phlebotomy services; updating as needed.

You Must Have:

  • Knowledge of inpatient and intensive outpatient programs.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and therapeutic approaches for appropriate interactions and interventions.
  • Patient-centered approach with ability to connect with each patient.
  • Awareness of therapeutic boundaries and ability to monitor transference within the therapeutic relationship.
  • Computer knowledge and use of electronic medical records
  • Position will accept applicants from Art, Music or Occupational Therapy programs. Art and Music Therapy candidates will be post Master’s degree and working towards a Board Certification. Occupational Therapy candidates must have a Kansas Occupational Therapy license.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training – must be obtained within 90 days of employment

Job Summary: 

The Expressive Therapist (ET) functions as a member of the ET Team and will be registered/certified in art, occupational, or music therapy. These services include planning and implementation of therapy activities such as group and or individual interactions. The expressive therapist provides an initial assessment of each patient and provides progress updates to treatment team members
