Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Responsible for facilitating the monthly and FY end financial closing process per established standards. 
  • Closes monthly financials within the time frame established by local hospital and corporate timelines.
  • Final review of all completed financial statements prior to them being disbursed to the applicable physicians.  Ensures that the HMA practice Operations Managers have access to and an understanding of the monthly financial information that will be distributed to the medical staff by them.
  • In conjunction with the Hospital Accounting Department, ensures compliance with fundamentally sound accounting theory to provide a concise audit trail for both external/internal audits that may occur from time to time.
  • Provide requested information to corporate internal auditors on an ongoing basis as may be requested.
  • Monitors the overall performance of the HMA accounting functions to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy in the reporting of financial information.
  • In conjunction with the Hospital Accounting department representative(s), prepares and implements the annual budgets for HMA.
  • Reviews the HMA accounting work flow procedures and recommends changes to expedite processing of data.
  • Works with Hospital, HMA, and practice leaders to provide decision support, including proforma financial statements and ROI analysis.
  • Ensures the HMA accounting employee(s) are knowledgeable of their job responsibilities

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Health or Business Administration, with an emphasis in accounting.  MBA/MHA preferred.
  • Minimum of Three to Five years of accounting experience.  Hospital/Clinic experience preferred.

Job Summary:

A salaried position responsible for the preparation and maintenance of all HMA accounting records, financial reports, financial audit preparation and other analysis as may be required.  Meets with all HMA employed physicians each month or as requested by the physician, to review monthly financial statements with them and to provide input and suggestions on how the practice operations might be improved/enhanced financially.  Responsible for creating various adhoc reports that may be indicated or requested from time to time.
