Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Evening Shift, Rotating Weekends

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Ensures a safe, clean and well-maintained facility on a daily basis.  Schedules floor maintenance staff for daily assignments and projects as required.
  • Is responsible for the floor refinishing, tile & grout cleaning, and carpet cleaning of patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, offices and ancillary rooms.  Performs floor care in assigned areas, i.e. scrubbing, polishing, striping and refinishing, carpet cleaning, tile & grout restoration.
  • Performs quality assurance checks in assigned locations. Observes staff for compliance with instructions and safety rules. Records from employee work sheets any problems found while cleaning and follows up with appropriate action
  • Administrative duties include but are not limited to: compiling data, scheduling, writing reports, corresponding via email, fax, radio or phone, providing input for employee evaluations and counseling and ordering supplies.
  • Adjusts personal schedule to meet department demands with very short notice or no notification.  Performs duties as needed even when not directly assigned.
  • Must conduct staff in-services and training as related to the floor care staff.  Trains floor maintenance staff on technique and proper use of equipment to ensure staff competency in the floor maintenance processes including but not limited to: refinishing of floors, carpet cleaning techniques, tile and grout cleaning.
  • Oversees floor maintenance staff on multiple shifts.  Maintains equipment in like new condition.


What You Will Need:

•       At least two years of previous Environmental Services experience and 1-year minimum of supervisory experience in Healthcare Facilities Services preferred. 

•       Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, is responsible for all floor project cleaning of the floors within the hospital in all patient, public and ancillary areas and daily maintenance of all common area floors.  Includes any other duties as may be assigned in accordance with the mission, goals and policies of the Environmental Services Department.
