You will be responsible for:
  • Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in organization’s Performance Excellence Program.
  • Supports training new staff by administering bi- weekly New Hire Department Orientation according to Florida Hospital Human Resources compliance and guidelines for all new employees. Offers continuing compliance education to all PFS staff and developing training materials as necessary. Ensures curriculum changes as business needs warrants.
  • Maintains all assigned resource materials, coordinating review with partners and uploads to department website. Maintains education documentation provided to staff for historical compliance purposes. Administrator for Net Learning and Operations team website.
  • Attends Non-Clinical Educator and PFS Department Management meetings on-site to ensure departmental compliance with all hospital directives and initiatives impacting department. When necessary, travels and coordinates special training activities as requested by Leadership. Creates PFS requested compliance or continuing education training material, including creating presentations to be distributed to all staff.  Responsible for following new employees for the first 90 days of their employment and ensure we offer ongoing training education for existing team members.
  • Maintains reservations for training rooms and equipment, accuracy of PFS Department Payor Updates, containing billing contract rates for all contract payers shared between managed care contracting and PFS. Maintains Disaster assignment reports, updating bi-weekly with new staff assignments, transfers and termination updates, adjusting coverage per campus or department needs.
  • Ensures PFS patient account compliance by remaining abreast of all Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) requirements and trains staff accordingly. When applicable, works directly with MIS in the implementation of new AHCA rules and regulations.
  • Prepares for each new training class by creating new hire employee document file and appropriately managing all student training material packets including PFS orientation workbooks, videos, presentations, Florida Hospital required Compliance CBL's and appropriate policies and procedures. Responsible for updating the management and leadership team of new educational material regarding our host billing system.
  • Creates and maintains online CBL presentations related to compliance items, PFS continuing Education, new processes or protocols, and/or AHS related initiatives, reporting outcomes of staff completion reports to Leadership as requested. Ensures curriculum stays closely to new processes or releases to ensure common knowledge is achieved.
  • When functioning in classroom as New Hire Department Orientation Educator, performs supervisory functions to facilitate efficient operations of department, including: correction of time and attendance for new hires; documenting competency outcomes in host system and tracking reports within expected time frames, notifying Audit team of all new PFS Staff who graduate basic training, as required, in a timely manner. Reviews and maintains, possibly creating, evaluation surveys, via on-line communication, to “Buddy” and new staff within specified time frames. Communicates issues or concerns timely to appropriate Leadership when warranted or applicable.
What will you need?
  • Uses discretion when discussing personnel/patient related issues that are confidential in nature. Is responsive to ever-changing matrix of hospital needs and acts accordingly.
  • Typing skills equal to 40 words per minute net.
  • Self-motivator, quick thinker.
  • Proficiency in performance of basic math functions, capability of communicating professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a Patient Financial Services, Education/Training, Accounting or related area.
  • Minimum Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Education or related field training capacity.
  • Train-the-Trainer certification or adult learning coursework. (Preferred)
