You Will Be Responsible For:

Demonstrates behaviors at Adventist University of Health Sciences in harmony with the “Four Words” Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality, and Stewardship.

  • Teaches in the didactic and clinical phases of the Master of Science Physician Assistant Program - MSPAS curriculum.
  • Participates in scholarship and service activities as indicated in university and department policies.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of new instructional experiences
  • Develops individualized learning objectives.
  • Recruits qualified applicants
  • Develops competencies required for the successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (“PANCE”) examination.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

Required:
  • Ability to work in face-to-face and online teaching environment.
  • Knowledge of computer based academic delivery systems.
  • Ability to work with an ethnically diverse student body.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team of highly motivated and experienced individuals.                           
  • Would be expected to attend a PAEA or PANDO workshop for faculty development
  • Three years of clinical experience 
  • Master's Degree from a Physician Assistant Program or related higher education field
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Certification, (NCCPA.net)
  • Must be eligible for Florida state licensure as a physician assistant
Preferred:
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level.
 
Job Summary:

As a Master’s prepared Professor, the faculty member would be expected to develop, design and deliver instruction in Physician Assistant courses, participate in student advising and mentoring. Engages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship and research.   Reviews and assists with revisions as needed for department policies and procedures. Identifies and recommends to department chair appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
