Description
Must be able to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis.  The Diagnostic Sonographer must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care.  Must know and perform all clerical/administrative support duties associated within the Department.  Should be able to perform the various examinations and procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual.                                                                                           
Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality as a Technologist.   Follow all Policies and Procedures for the Hospital as well as the Department of Imaging.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of formal Ultrasonography training course in an CAAHEP-accredited school or the equivalent. Completion of accredited ultrasonography course or equivalent on-the job-training program that would allow Sonographer to perform exams to the satisfaction of the Radiologist interpreting the exam.

Six (6) months of hospital based experienced preferred.

ARRT registered or eligible (must become registered within l year of registry date).  Registered or registry-eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specific specialties associated with this position. Registered or registry eligible by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in the specific specialties associated with this position. Current BLS card through American Heart Association is required.
