 HIM Tech II - Texas Health Mansfield- A joint venture between Texas Health Resources and AdventHealth

Location: 2300 Lone Star Road; Mansfield, TX

Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time and Part Time Shifts Available

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain the flow of incomplete charts at an efficient level ensuring their completion as soon as possible.

  • Prepares charts for the scanning process.

  • QCs (quality control) charts accurately.

  • Assigns medical records to correct document type in validation.

  • Ensures that scan images appear in PowerChart.

  • Assigns deficiencies to medical records accurately.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Assist with day to day activities of the staff as needed to assist in maintaining an efficient and organized Health Information Services Department.

  • Share telephone responsibilities; answers telephone within three rings in a courteous manner, identifying self and department with no variances.

  • Assist callers or department visitors in any way possible, routing to appropriate personnel within department or hospital immediately, with no variances.

  • Records and communicates or delivers messages accurately, with less than three complaints in a three month period.

  • Promptly and accurately locate and check out charts to floors on re-admitted patients as requested without requiring second requests for same record, with no variances.

  • Promptly and accurately fulfill physicians' and other health care facilities requests for patient information and/or charts according to policy.

  • Possesses and understands and is cross-trained in different department functions and assists with coverage on these areas as needed without complaining with less than three complaints in a three-month period.


What You Will Need:

Knowledge of medical terminology necessary.

Computer skills needed.

High school diploma or equivalent required

5 years’ experience in Health Information Management setting

Certification in Health Information Management or related field preferred

Job Summary:

The H.I.M. Technician II is responsible for scanning, quality control, validation and analysis of medical records.
