Work Hours/Shift:

• FT nights

• Start and end times vary between (start) 1900 to 2030 and (end) 0630 to 0730.

• Generally there are 7 x 12 hour shifts in a 2 week pay period (4, 12 hour shifts one week and 3 the next).

You Will Be Responsible For:

•       Interacts professionally with the Director of Clinical Laboratory, Pathologist and clinical laboratory personnel.

•       Consults with other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.

•       Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

•       Follows standard precautions at all times.

•       Manages and operates laboratory equipment safely and correctly.

What You Will Need:

• 4-year Baccalaureate Degree

• Three years’ experience as a medical technologist

• MT (ASCP) or CLS (MLS), or eligible

• CPR

Job Summary:

To assist in the management of the technical and administrative operations of the laboratory and to supply lab support services within the hospital. Responsible for the processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results in all areas of the clinical laboratory.  Maintains laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; maintains quality control practices in the Laboratory.  Participates in Quality Improvement functions.  Responsible for orientation of new employees.
