Work Hours/Shift:
  • Full-Time, Monday – Friday

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Guides the application team to design, build, and test of clinical application components.
  • Promotes cross training inside of the AHS-IS organization. 
  • Works closely with all AHS IS managers when, researching, planning, building, and implementing approved projects.  Oversees the delivery of solutions and appropriately manages and escalates risks and issues. 
  • Monitors productivity and adjusts staffing based on project resource needs.
  • Promotes cost containment through appropriate use of resources and travel expenses. 
  • Promotes good employee relationships by encouraging discussion, input and interaction.
  • Promotes personal and professional development of employees as appropriate.
  • Regularly meets with personnel to review problems and to establish goals, policies and objectives.  

What You Will Need:
  • College Degree (B.A., B.S. or significant commensurate experience) in a field of study such as business, IS, or healthcare related area require
  • 5+ years’ experience with clinical/technical system application implementation with Cerner required.
  • 5+ years of clinical/technical background required
  • Experience with leading groups or projects required
Job Summary:

The Lab Applications Manager will report directly to the Director of Ancillary Applications. The Lab Applications Manager has extensive understanding of end user system use, the ability to analyze and understand system & business problems, as well as the knowledge to make solution recommendations that meet the organizational goals of maintaining clinical and business systems. With an integrated focus on all procedural areas, the manager develops and promotes a common standard of care across all clinical and business systems.  They are dedicated to providing a secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patients’ experiences.  In addition, the manager will play an active role on the AHS IS management team, participate in interdisciplinary meetings and projects, and promote cross training both within the department and amongst other clinical applications teams. They will employ global understanding of IT Service Management, change control, and implementation processes. The ability to lead discussions with all levels of leadership, clinicians, physicians, and department staff is essential for this position.
