Work Hours/Shift:

PRN/Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Ability to function independently on assigned patient care units and also with non-patient care duties (office, projects, committees).
  • Ability to counsel and educate others and adapt method of teaching style to accommodate different lifestyles or backgrounds. 
  • Attends nursing unit interdisciplinary rounds as appropriate or provide information to team for meeting.
  • Provides patient/family education based on assessed education level, barriers to learning, and learning preferences.
  • Utilizes established nutrition care process and critical thinking to collect, analyze and interpret nutritionally pertinent data per established standards.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • At least 2 years of experience in an acute care facility, or related nutrition field.
  • Completes a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and course work approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND)
  • Completes a CADE-accredited supervised practice program at a healthcare facility, community agency, or a foodservice corporation, or combined with undergraduate or graduate studies
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) with State of Florida License for Dietitian/Nutritionist (or proof of submission for FL License if out of state) 

Job Summary:

Works closely with the Interdisciplinary Health Care Team to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy that is integrated and compatible with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives.
