The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Record Director is responsible for maintaining the integrity of resident medical records, both active and discharged.  The Medical Record Director oversees the release of health information, when appropriate.

  • Maintains current policy and procedures for the Medical Record Department.
  • Participates in the facility quality improvement process by performing qualitative and quantitative audits and reporting.
  • Maintains security of resident information.
  • Performs the release of information functions, including the review and processing of all requests for information.
  • Maintains a master forms manual.
  • Maintains a system for the filing, retention, and destruction of all medical records.
  • Completes facility reports, as appropriate.
  • Participate in facility meetings and committees, as appropriate.


 The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Health care experience
  • Experience with ICD10-CM coding (Preferred)
  • Long Term Care experience (Preferred)
  • Proficient in the use of a computer
  • Typing of 40 wpm
