Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Evenings

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Ensures proper levels of staff and supplies in their section at all times so specimens can be processed without delays.
  • Monitors the technologists and instruments in their section, and provides assistance as needed, so laboratory tests are reported accurately and on time.   
  • Communicates effectively with laboratory management, to keep them informed of the current status of their section, and to provide information for decision-making processes regarding their section and the laboratory.
  • Performs all the duties of a technologist, including testing body fluid specimens accurately and as rapidly as possible to enable diagnosis and treatment of patients by licensed caregivers.
  • Performs tests timely and with 99% accuracy, with special attention to high priority areas of the hospital, such as ER, OR, Cath Lab
  • Performs quality control and monitors results for evidence of problems with high degree of accuracy.
  • Performs preventative maintenance as required
  • Always assays or calibrates new reagents, kits, and other material before put into use.  Documents reagents and kits when opened and placed into use.
  • Maintains orderly and efficient arrangement of equipment and supplies in area worked.  Keeps work area clean, neat and well organized.  Cleans up after work is done and leaves counter well organized after shift is complete
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, or Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical or biological science and one year of laboratory experience.
  • Associates Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences acceptable.
  • Florida Licensure.
Job Summary:

Provides technical direction and administrative operation of their laboratory section. Performs work in one or more divisions or areas of the clinical laboratory to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
