Work Hours/Shift:

PRN Days

 

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Assists co-workers to maintain quality patient care.

• Assists lead technologist with quality assurance program.

• Attends hospital/departmental meetings and in-services.

• Demonstrates an organized approach to work load.

• Documents and reports any patient incident or report of concern in a prompt and timely manner.

• Establish appropriate factors to perform quality images.

• Handle and administer radioactive materials according to the guidelines established state regulations 64-E.

• Complies with The Joint Commission requirements related to their duties.

• Utilizes the AIDET principles when interacting with patients, visitors and coworkers.

• Complies with regulations under the HIPAA law.

• Demonstrates knowledge of hospital policies related to emergencies.

• Documents in patient chart (PowerChart, PACS, etc.) when appropriate.

• Performs daily calibration procedures on dose calibers.

• Maintains radiation protection standards. (ALARA)

• Performs daily flood of scanner heads to establish acceptable uniformity of scanning systems.

• Performs decontamination procedures in accordance with state regulations.

• Performs radiation surveys and wipe test in compliance with our radiation safety program.

• Performs weekly bar phantom acquisitions to establish resolution of scanner.

• Provide assistance to radiologist and/or physician.

• Rotates call coverage.

• Promotes positive attitude in the workplace. Encourages others to do the same.

• Supports hospital/departmental policies and procedures.

• Verifies orders and appropriateness of the examination.

• Takes verbal orders and documents appropriately in patients’ medical record

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

• Appropriate technical skills in Nuclear Medicine

• Academic and Clinical Training in Nuclear Medicine

• ARRT (NM) or CNMT

• BLS

• State of Florida License in Nuclear Medicine Technology
