Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Days

Differentials:

7a-3p = base wage

3p-11p = base wage plus 15%

11p-7a = base wage plus 18%

Weekends are another 10% on top of the above

7a-3p = base wage plus 10%

3p-11p = base wage plus 15% plus 10%

11p-7a = base wage plus 18% plus 10%

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Demonstrates through behavior core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork.
  • Performs, properly documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with departmental and hospital policy.
  • Completes assessments and reassessments, including pain scale, response to medication / interventions.  Assesses for and intervenes when abuse or neglect suspected.
  • Supports performance improvement initiatives and Clinical Best Practice / Core measures initiatives (ACS, CAP, Code Brain etc) 
  • A customer service champion as demonstrated by AIDET, keeping patients informed, providing information and updates to patients, apologizing for waits, demonstrating caring, compassion, & concern; 
  • Maintains current licensure and education in accordance with the requirements of the Registered Nurse job description.


Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program
  • BSN and Master’s degree in Nursing (preferred)
  • BLS (Required) Trainer within six months
  • ACLS (Required) Trainer within six months
  • PALS (Required) Trainer within six months
  • TNCC (Required)
  • ENA membership (Preferred)
  • ENPC (Preferred)
  • CEN (Preferred)
  • Computer skills and general knowledge of EMR
  • Prior education experience (preferred)
  • Two to three years of Emergency or Critical care experience required

Job Summary:

The Nurse Educator, in the ED, is responsible for facilitating the development of clinical excellence in assigned areas through active participation in orientation, training, on-going staff development and evaluation of clinical practice for all levels of personnel served.  They participate in the development of formal and informal education programs and activities to improve standards and performance expectations.  Additionally, they are responsible for the coordination of all phases of orientation for new nursing employees, and for planning, implementing and evaluating in-service and continuing education programs on an on-going basis which are designed to meet educational needs.  They are cognizant of trends in nursing practice and care delivery and facilitates the process for learners to assume responsibility for maintaining competence in practice. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the Emergency Department.years of Emergency or Critical care experience required
