You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations for Medical and radiation oncology department.
  • Assists in developing and implementing plans and goals for the department.
  • Collaborates with the Regional Director of clinical oncology in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures related to care of the patient and ensures compliance.
  • Coordinates nursing care with lab, pharmacy, registration, scheduling, and patient financial services
  • Provides resource for team to achieve nursing specific and hospital overall goals and accountabilities.
  • Provides collaborative leadership for consistent safety and service standards for the Patient Experience Model. 
  • Maintains credibility when communicating adverse news, follows through on promises and concerns, and provides service recovery to dissatisfied customers.
  • Participates in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making utilizing clinical expertise
  • Assesses and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of health care delivered to patients in the department

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s in Science of Nursing
  • Five (5) years of nursing experience
  • Three years oncology/infusion experience
  • Current licensure with the Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered nurse
  • BLS Certification

Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager of the Medical and Radiation Oncology department assists in overseeing and managing the daily work and services provided by the nursing team; assist in developing and implementing plans and goals of care for patients in the ambulatory infusion centers; coordination of health services between Pharmacy, Lab, Registration, Scheduling, and Patient Financial services in the Ambulatory Infusion Centers. Collaborates with the Regional Director of Clinical Oncology to coordinate daily operations. The Nurse Manager interacts with staff and contributes to the professional development of the leadership team; collaborates as needed with all levels of nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other stakeholders in relation to the delivery of quality care. Acts as an advocate for the protection and rights of individuals, families, healthcare providers, and other professions, especially related to health and safety. Assist in ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies. Has knowledge of and adheres to, the American Nursing Association (ANA) Code of Ethics, the ANA Scope and Standard for Nursing Practice, State Board of Nursing Practice Act, and the Oncology Nursing Society. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
