Work Hours/Shift:

PRN

You Will Be Responsible For:

  •  Submits all forms/data within deadlines as designated by sponsor/ cooperative groups. (timely data)
  • Submits quality data to minimize number of required revisions. (quality data)
  • Contacts patients as needed, and documents the contact, to meet follow-up contact requirements for study adherence.
  • Responds to queries or other communications from sponsor/cooperative group in a timely fashion.
  • Collects and compiles Medical Records as needed for nursing staff to assist with patient eligibility assessment and data collection needs.
  • Keeps patients status up to date in database on a routine basis as assigned.
  • Documents all pertinent communication with involved entities (i.e., physicians, cooperative groups, sponsor and/or sponsor’s representative, or ancillary departments) in a timely manner. 
  • Maintains patient charts in a neat, organized fashion; adhering to departmental policies and/or sponsor requirements.
  • Actively participates in cooperative group or foundation audits as designated
  • Utilizes all avenues available to decrease patients “lost to follow-up”
  • Ensures that necessary study supplies are available as needed
  • Assists in obtaining, processing and shipping specimens and other items as required by protocol.
  • Ensures that necessary shipping kits and supplies (i.e., dry ice) are available when needed for specimen collection
  • Assists with entering specimen in the Cooperative Group/ sponsor electronic specimen tracking systems.

Qualifications

What you will need:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Two years’ medical secretary, tumor registry, medical assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or research assistant experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

    • Research assistant experience
    • Administrative assistant experience

Job Summary:

The Clinical Research Office Assistant will work closely with research nurses and research staff.  Responsible for clinical research data management.  Coordinate the data flow and submission for clinical research trials in an organized and timely manner.  Establishing and following procedures for effectively gathering and entering data including hard copy and electronic file management for clinical research.  Provide support to research nurses and coordinators by preparing research charts, performing database searches, and assisting with reports. Complete administrative duties as assigned.  Coordinate and maintain regulatory processes and management.
