Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time, Monday-Friday.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Proficient in clinical aspects of orthopedics/surgery including radiology safety, casting, splinting and PRP injections. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to create training documents and manuals and train one on one and also train and present to groups of various sizes.
  • Supports the orthopedic service line in a cost-effective, efficient manner assuring that staff provides high quality care in a courteous and friendly atmosphere.
  • Reviews charges, scheduling and other financial reports along with billing practices to assure physician and office reimbursement is appropriate when requested.
  • Assists the Director of Practice Operations in preparation of annual budget, as requested and assists in preparing the monthly Practice Operations Council (POC) and site-specific action plans (SSAP) when requested.
  • Supports the Director of Operations in evaluating products and services related to orthopedics by assisting in data collections and preparation for review with the Regional Medical Director of Orthopedics prior to training and roll out in the region.
  • Properly prepares check requests along with office and/or physician Expense Reports and Petty Cash Reimbursement/Reconciliation form in accordance with policy.
  • Demonstrates ability to read and understand expense reports and works with Director of Operations regarding variances. Understands budgetary limitations and helps office to maintain budgetary limits.
  • Properly processes invoices for payment in accordance with hospital policy
  • May prepare and track data which reflects turnaround time and test results.
  • Is responsible for training, development and assignment of tasks to the physician affiliate office staff.
  • Provides input for employee periodic and annual evaluations.
  • Participates in monthly staff meetings.  Minutes and a roster are maintained.
  • Coordinates completion of employee competencies in compliance with the requirement of the Regional Director of Clinical Services.
  • Prepares, updates and tracks department schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage in practice to include on-call schedules, prn staffing and PDO days for employees and physicians.
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret and enforce Various AdventHealth and AdventHealth Medical Group policies and procedures.
  • Maintains medical records in compliance with AdventHealth, AdventHealth Medical Group, TJC and HIPAA requirements with respect to patient confidentiality, security and completeness.
  • Assures that offices meets Safety and Infection Control standards.
  • Responds to problems/concerns of the physicians and staff members of the practice.
  • Assists with physician credentialing as necessary.
  • Acts as practice liaison for patients and staff.
  • Provides reports and statistics as requested by Director of Operations.
  • May fill in for front office staff as needed
  • Properly completes Time and Attendance for employees if delegated coverage for a Practice Manager on vacation of FMLA.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by Director of Practice Operation, Regional Medical Director or Regional Director of Clinical Services.
Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Electronic Health Record Expertise Required.
  • Knowledge of AHCA and working with Radiology Processes.
  • Direct Patient Care in Orthopedics Required.
  • Casting Certification Required. 
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Two years’ experience as a lead role in a medical setting or other supervisory related role. 
  • Certified Medical Assistant required.
  • Certified Medical Office required.
  • Knowledge of Radiology process and workflow required.
  • Experience in management of multiple practices or specialty practices desirable. 
  • Bachelor of Business Administration or healthcare related field preferred.
  • Interim coverage for practice managers on vacation or FMLA may be assigned.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Orthopedic Service Line Specialist is responsible for assisting the Operations Director in planning, controlling, organizing and directing the operations and activities of the various orthopedic practice locations throughout the region in conjunction with the Practice Manager.
