Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Greets customers (patients, guests, families, staff, physicians, venders, etc.) and team members in a helpful and courteous manner while extending exemplary customer service.  Anticipates and responds to inquiries and needs of team members and clinical partners as requested, performing general shift supervisory duties.  Rounds with clinical partners to ensure open communication between clinical and ancillary departments, and Patient Access.
  • Supports department and team by ensuring patients are registered and processed accurately and timely.  Ensures integrity of patient accounts by working assigned error reports.   Communicates with team members and leadership educational needs for improvement, related to processes and work flows via email or team meetings.
  • Makes self-available to provide team members with tools and training needed to assist in meeting accuracy standard goals, minimize department registration errors, rejections, and avoidable denials.  Trains and assists new hires in successfully meeting 90 day productivity standards.
  • Ensures team success in meeting and exceeding stated monthly collection goals to protect financial standing of Florida Hospital Waterman, by providing encouragement, education, and training to motivate team members in collections and reviewing all collection reports timely, as assigned by leadership.
  •  Assigns and/or re-assigns registration positions as volumes increase or staffing issues arise.  Provides timely and continual coverage of assigned work areas in order to offer prompt patient service and be available for all clinical partners registration needs. 
  • Required to constantly ensure a high level of team productivity by proactively reviewing department tracking board for shifts in volume and visiting registration areas, offering additional assistance as required. Ensures team members are seeking out patients at bed side for timely account follow up and completion, minimizing amount of turnover to next shift.
  • Uses proper terminology and codes when inputting order and diagnosis information.
  • Maintains skill level and knowledge by reading updates, attending training sessions and completing study materials as needed.  Completes department competencies as required and ensures staff complete competencies by the due date.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:          
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Uses discretion when discussing personnel/patient related issues that are confidential in nature.
  • Is responsive to ever-changing matrix of hospital needs and acts accordingly.
  • Self-motivator, quick thinker. 
  • Capable of performing basic math functions.
  • Capability of communicating professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous work experience in Patient Access/Patient Financial Services Department or related area (registration, finance, collections, customer service, medical office, contract management, or call center experience.

Constantly ensures a high level of team productivity by proactively reviewing department tracking tools. Actively participates in exemplary customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Adheres to Florida Hospital Waterman Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
