Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Understand the Patient Safety Quality Improvement Act (PSQIA) and its regulations and how it interacts with state laws such as peer-review and mandatory reporting requirements. 
  • Ensure compliance with the privacy, confidentiality, and security requirements of the PSQIA by planning and documenting who will have access to the PSWP, how the PSWP will be used and how it will be distributed in or out of the PSES.
  • Establish policies and procedures related to the establishment and maintenance of hospital’s Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES) to include the physical characteristics of the PSES, procedures for selecting and entering information into the PSES, procedures for reporting information to and receiving feedback from Adventist Health System Patient Safety Organization (AHS PSO) and conditions for access of Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP) within the PSES and disclosure of PSWP outside of the PSES.
  • Define and designate PSWP by ensuring that all PSWP intended for submission to AHS PSO is conspicuously labeled with appropriate verbiage.
  • Provide oversight to the coordination of the multiple processes within the hospital that will be utilized in the production, collection, transmission, and receipt of PSWP.  

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute care setting 
  • Experience in proactive loss control management and claims management
  • RN or other clinical licensure
  • Florida Certified Health Care Risk Manager preferred
  • Certified Profession Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred
  • PSQIA experience preferred
Job Summary:

The Patient Safety Organization Liaison gathers and submits PSWP to the PSO in accordance with the requirements under the Patient Safety Quality Improvement Act and provides education to promote a culture of patient safety.
