Work Hours/Shift:

  • Full-Time, Monday – Friday

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Completes monthly payroll reconciliations
  • Creates and submits cash funding requests
  • Reconciles urgent check account and requests wire transfers when necessary
  • Monitors Payroll Metrics
  • Serves as back up for Senior Payroll Tax Accountant
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department
  • Available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs
Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business related degree required
  • Minimum of two years of accounting experience required
  • Minimum of two or more years of Payroll Tax/Multi-state experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Experience in PeopleSoft preferred
  • Telecommunicating Taxation experience.
  • Familiarity with Forms 941 and Forms W-2 as it relates to electronic reporting requirements and deadlines.

Job Summary:

The Payroll Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for compiling, auditing, and remitting federal, state, and local payroll tax returns. This role will also be involved with the internal payroll audits to validate the accuracy of the payroll wages, tax data and filings. This role will demonstrate knowledge of payroll tax compliance and reconciliation of all payroll tax accounts. The payroll tax accountant actively participates  in the evaluation of process improvement opportunities. The Payroll Tax Accountant actively participates in outstanding customer service and is available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs.
