 You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Ensure patient safety through data analysis to identify problematic use patterns, developing corrective plans educating on best practices

  • Monitoring programs to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance

  • Design and administer: Drug Utilization Review (DUR) programs

  • Advise/assist on any Prior Authorization programs

  • Design and implement drug monitoring programs (to drive safety, appropriate use)

  • Quality Assurance (QA) programs -chronic conditions and safety etc.

  • Leverage scientific evidence continued use and new therapies evaluation

  • Develop and oversee PHSO Pharmacy and Therapeutic (P&T) Committees

  • Design and use communication protocols to assure that there is an exchange of necessary information

  • Introducing systematic programs that enhances the quality of patient care and saves costs

  • Collaborate with other health care professionals to recommend design effective benefit structures that will service a specific population’s needs

  • Identify compliance and noncompliance with prescribing guidelines, create measures for assessing physician performance, identifying prescribing patterns and determining opportunities for improvement.

What You Will Need:
  • Pharm.D. degree
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience coordinating and managing pharmacy projects, preferably in large IDN health care, managed care, health insurance environment

  • Minimum of 3years of Pharmacy program management experience with a health plan or PBM

Job Summary:

The Population Health Services Organization (PHSO) Pharmacy Manager will be responsible to design, secure executive commitment, develop and lead a broad and diversified range of clinical, quality-oriented drug management services for the Adventist Health System (AHS) Population Health Pharmacy Management Program. This will include but not be limited to developing the overall structure and operations to support programs in Drug Utilization Review (DUR), Cost Management, Communication protocols, and Quality Assurance (QA) and compliance programs to effectively meet the targeted engagement, clinical and economic outcomes.  Ensure that pharmacy related programs are performing and compliant and in all regulatory mandated and contractual quality activities. Monitor key program and population metrics, as well as participate in quality improvement efforts serving as a pharmacy resource for network physicians, PHSO committees, members, medical services, care management, and member service staffs as well as other internal and external partners. Responsible for actively identifying opportunities of improvement and developing and driving annual clinical initiatives related to the pharmacy management for the populations served.  Pharmacy topic educator and training resource to population health services and programs to PHSO and Integrated delivery system partners. Additionally, responsible for reviewing and identifying any opportunities in formulary design and providing clinical and economic data necessary to make formulary recommendations.
