You Will Be Responsible For:

Physician & Allied Health Application Process

  • Effectively, accurately and efficiently administer the various professional liability application processes for all AHS employed physicians and allied health professionals in accordance with applicable employment agreements making sure the application is complete including claim history.
  • Timely and accurately issue initial application review/rate indication to facility contact within 48 hours. 

Physician Re-Evaluation Application Process

  • Timely prepare Physician Master monthly re-evaluation list and send to facility contact.
  • Timely and accurately process re-evaluation applications for current data accuracy and address issues.
  • Timely audit provider files and analyze if they meet the criteria for submission to Employed Physician Review Committee and if so, prepare rating sheet report and submit.

Department Provider Processes (25%)

  • Timely process claim history requests for third party non-AHS entities as well as for re-credentialing employed providers for all AHS entities.
  • Follow and maintain knowledge of underwriting and rating policies for the AHS employed physician liability program.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in VISTAR and on the excel master spreadsheet to include malpractice rates, listing of physicians by entity, FTE’s, Prior Acts Coverage information and/or Agreements as well as addition and termination information.
  • Timely link and accurately label emails and all other communications and documents related to physician to their VISTAR/ImageNow file per guidelines.

Maintains Risk Management Knowledge and Confidentiality (5%)

  • Due to the sensitivity of the information position relates to, deals discretely with confidential information concerning the AHS Liability Program as well as other matters in the risk management department.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships and works effectively with individuals in AHS institutions through communication, documentation and problem solving in carrying out physician program duties.
Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • One to three years Healthcare experience in insurance, risk management, medical terminology or physician office experience
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM), preferred

Job Summary:

This position primarily compiles and analyzes information for the evaluation of physicians and allied health providers who are being recruited for employment by AHS entities and examines documents such as application forms and claim forms to classify risks and determine insurance rates.  Position specifically coordinates the administration of the AHS employed physician and allied health professional liability program and analyzes information for the underwriting, rating, reporting and evaluation of Professional Liability coverage afforded to employed physicians and allied health providers under the AHS Liability Trust as well as physicians who may be allowed to stay on alternate coverage and prepares underwriting materials for review to the AHS Risk Services Manager and Vice President of Risk Management.  Additionally, position provides assistance and seeks solutions to physician issues presented by hospital administration and physician services as well as providing excellent customer service.  

Position interacts with AHS entity CEO’s, CFOs, Vice Presidents, Directors, Physician Enterprise, Risk Managers and other positions to ensure accuracy of financial and demographic records related to employed physicians and allied health providers.  Additionally, position acts as a resource and provides consultation to AHS entities on the processes of the AHS Employed Physician Program and assists Risk Services Manager and Vice President of Risk Management in development of reports or data projects as assigned.
