Work Hours/Shift:
  • Full Time / Day
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Takes and records measures of patient’s general physical condition, such as pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration to provide daily information
  • Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and reports observations to medical staff
  • Intervenes as necessary to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal patients by verbal and/or physical means as required
  • Completes initial assessment forms and provides pertinent information to the providers 
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • High school diploma
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider
  • Two years of health care experience in related field
  • One year of experience working with a psychiatric population
  • Ability to recognize when a patient is having an adverse reaction to medication and report it in a timely manner to the Physician in charge.
  • Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a professional, pleasant and helpful manner
 
Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Technician, reporting to the Practice Manager, provides hands-on care to patients with varying degrees of mental illnesses, following physician instructions and hospital or practice procedures. Monitors and reports patients’ physical and emotional well-being while helping patients improve their overall functioning. Responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, reviewing new patient registration and entering patient information into the practice’s designated system. This individual obtains clinical, financial and demographic patient data and assists in patient education.
