Work Hours/Shift:
Relief, Days
Must be available for 8 hour shifts between 7 a.m and 5 p.m.

Must be willing to work 3 days per per week.  Mondays are required and remaining 2 days are flexible.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Speaking with team members and answering questions via phones, emails and in person

  • Answering COVID related team member questions, providing follow-up, scheduling testing, tracing for exposures and placing team members on quarantine and following up with them and their leaders.

  • Documenting via the computer programs and apps

  • Giving vaccinations

  • Walking associates thru new hire and annual employee health reviews (in person and via telephone)
  • Provide supportive, caring and confidential interaction with employees.
  • Manage employee and department needs and scheduling with flexibility.

  • Maintain employee advocacy with departments and other employees.

  • Supports and adheres to organizational policies, procedures and protocols.

What You Will Need:
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing

  • No Previous Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or obtained within 4 years of employment

  • Kansas Registered Nurse License

  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association


The Employee Health Nurse (EHN) assists in the management of the Occupational Health and Workers’ Compensation program for SMMC and works with the Employee Health Manager to provide surveillance, management and record keeping for work-related health aspects of SMMC associates.  This includes fitness for duty, infectious disease and exposures, work-related injury and illness, drug testing and federal, state and regulatory agency requirements.  The EHN reports to the EH Manager and works with the EH team, Work Comp, SMMC Infectious Disease Consultant, Infection Control, Safety, Human Resources and Risk Management.
