Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time Day
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Participates with assigned departments in quality/performance improvement activities by assisting with the assessing, monitoring and measuring of indicators and evaluating outcomes on a continuous basis.
  • Assists assigned departments in the selection of indicators based on projected use of data.
  • Attends department meetings to insure the dissemination of performance improvement outcomes and recommendations.
  • Acts as resource to clinical staff for Evidenced Based Practice Initiatives.
  • Performs scheduled concurrent review of patient medical records for inter-rater reliability measures associated with Core Measure Data outcomes and follow-up with appropriate individuals for compliance.
  • Participates in the developing and maintaining policies and procedures which provide for a programmatic framework for quality, performance improvement and regulatory readiness.
  • Acts as a liaison for hospital based patient safety initiatives to unit based staff.
  • Collaborates with Quality team and other departments, committees, etc. to promote positive safe patient outcomes.
  • Familiar with the National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) and acts as a resource to all employees for initiatives associated with the NPSGs
  • Serves as a member of task force/subcommittees associated with the implementation of NPSGs.
  • Serve as a preceptor for orientation of new employees to the job responsibilities of the Quality Consultant.
  • Plans, organizes, develops and implements educational programs for all hospital employees including administrative and ancillary services to increase employee awareness of patient safety initiatives and regulatory standards.
  • Develops appropriate informational materials at appropriate level of understanding for all employees.

What You Will Need:
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Florida, with Minimum 3 years Acute Care Experience
  • Epidemiologist or special focused education in advanced Epidemiology
  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice, Clinical Outcomes reporting, i.e. TJC- Core measures, CMS-FMQUI quality improvement, IHI Patient Safety Initiatives.
Job Summary

The Quality Consultant is trained in or has a background in hospital performance improvement, quality controls and regulatory readiness and is responsible for the review, analysis and reporting of outcomes related to the organization’s preparation and performance in quality assurance, performance improvement and regulatory readiness.  Educates hospital employees and develops the hospitals policies and procedures to insure compliance to standards that meet accrediting agency requirements.
