Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Days, 40 hours per week

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Demonstrates care for one another by working all areas, open to change, sensitive to department needs, effectively participates in conflict resolution/problem solving.
  • Schedules patients, establishes appointments in timely manner.
  • Registers all patients upon arrival to the center.
  • Contacts patients with reminder of next day’s appointment and reschedules appropriately if needed.
  • Maintains accurate clinic electronic calendar.
  • Verifies insurance authorization is received and noted in electronic medical record. Hyperbaric Medicine Authorizations are specific to the service. Validates authorization is current.
  • Validates all charges from the previous day are entered into the system.
  • Appropriately discharges patients from the EMR at the time of discharge.
  • Collects patient co-payments and sends to the cashier daily.
  • Requests medical records at referral intake from referring physician and/or facilities.
  • Supports staff, with assigned project based work.
  • Collaborates with staff on marketing efforts
  • Performs clerical duties to include but not limited to scanning, photocopying, faxing, mailing, etc.…
  • Maintains electronic and manual filing systems.
  • Signs for and distributes UPS/FedEx/Airborne packages.
  • Performs front office responsibilities as assigned.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills respectfully and courteous when interacting with patients, co-workers, physicians, and colleagues within department.
  • Welcomes patients and visitors, professionally; adheres to HIPAA regulations.
  • Prevents casual overtime at all times and completes work in a timely manner.
  • Assists in controlling supplies and maintains inventory weekly.
  • Maintains efficiency in patient work-up flow and triage responsibilities.
  • Identifies problems that may affect patient safety and efficiency in department.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of Hospital guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists office staff with marketing mailings, phone calls.
  • Facilitating process and flow, in a timely manner, is essential.
  • Possess strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Maintains a neat, clean organized work environment and helps colleagues as needed.
  • All staff are responsible for providing support if required in the hyperbaric unit.
  • Attends unit meetings per unit standard 90% of the time.
  • Adheres to hospital dress code policy 100% of the time.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Competent in basic patient work-flow.
  • Ability to keep process and patient flow on time.
  • Current basic computer skills, data input.
  • Good business office organizational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  •  
  • Prefer one (1) year in a Hyperbaric Clinical setting.
  • Prefer strong team building skills.
  • High School diploma/GE
  • Minimum of One (1) year with Medical Front Office functions.
  • Prefer an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prefer Three (3) years or more years experience in physician office or clinical setting.
  • Prefer strong communication skills verbal and written.
  • Prefer knowledge of outpatient hospital services.
  • Prefer the ability to work closely with physicians.
  • Prefer administrative, business degree

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Center Director, will perform tasks supporting delivery of patient care. Provides operational support in delivery of patient care in a physician practice setting or clinical office.  Responsible for assisting with front office operations including but not limited to patient registration, general clerical, receptionist, charge entry, scheduling, patient check in and check out, tracking of procedures, reporting, authorization, and insurance verification. In collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager, facilities ordering of medical supplies.  Participates in maintaining a safe patient environment at all times.  Possess strong organizational skills.
