You Will Be Responsible For:

•         Responsible for the clinical practice within the assigned departments

•         Assures safe, effective delivery of clinical services

•         On a daily basis, demonstrates presence or involvement in department

•         Rounds and interacts with physicians, staff, patients, families, and customers

•         Available to problem solve, support and assist the team

•         Upholds clinical practice standards and guidelines

•         Explores opportunities to improve clinical outcomes and takes action

•         Remains current with new trends and technology related to clinical specialty areas of responsibility, leadership and management

•         Monitors staffing pattern that supports effective clinical services within establishment budget parameters

•         Assures operations are responsive to charges in coding, billing and reimbursement

•         Assumes leadership role in the area of care delivery of Outpatient Clinics

•         Analyzes staffing needs and schedules staff appropriately

•         Formulates policies/procedures

•         Demonstrates advanced clinical competency and skill in assessment, treatment and discharge planning in accordance with acceptable practice act standards and insurance guidelines/requirements, and accreditation agency requirements.

•         Demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the age of the patient served, and maintains a knowledge of growth and development with an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients.

•         Collects, analyzes, interprets, and applies age-specific data

•         Develops, implements and monitors a Quality Improvement Plan that is reviewed and revised annually or as needed.

•         Responds to customer complaints within 24-48 hours

•         Documents and takes action within 24 hours on potentially compensable events (i.e. accidents, professional errors, etc.)

•         Documents and reports unsafe conditions

•         Demonstrates compliance with all licensing, accrediting, certification, and/or legal requirements

•         Communication/leadership

•         Assures actions and decisions are consistent with the mission, vision and values.

•         Works cooperatively with physicians, volunteers, employees

•         Adapts current operations to changing needs of customers, families, physicians, employees and the community

•         Keeps Executive Director informed of programs, problems and issues

•         Resolves problems independently as appropriate

•         Communications to staff all relevant information , holds periodic, communication meetings and ensures records are kept

•         Adheres to existing policies and procedures; assists in developing policies and procedures that are consistent with regulating agency guidelines and Adventist Health System mission and philosophy.

•         Manages change by educating team members to accept and acknowledge change, leading others through it with enthusiasm.

•         Actively listens and often helps others deal with stress and stressful situations

•         Demonstrates a leadership role in staff selection and development

•         Interviews candidates assuring that appropriate documentation occurs

•         Orients new staff assuring that appropriate documentation occurs

•         Maintains high levels of employee engagement and job performance by providing recognition and opportunities for learning

•         Assesses staff competency assuring that appropriate documentation occurs

•         Evaluates employee skills, provide feedback/input timely. Coaches and provides disciplinary action per policy.

•         Reinforces positive behaviors

•         Demonstrates/promotes participatory management

•         Demonstrates a leadership role in the area of performance improvement

•         Assumes primary responsibility in the development of acceptable standards for department quality assurance.

•         Is instrumental in the timely preparation and presentation of mandatory quality assurance studies

•         Demonstrates commitment to the hospital PI program by taking the initiative and actively participating in the continuous quality improvement efforts and customer satisfaction plan implementation

•         Monitors and responds to all patient complaints

•         Demonstrates the ability to manage fiscal responsibilities

•         Monitors productivity levels and adjusts staffing accordingly

•         Analyzes reports to create variance reports and determine action plans

•         Develops an operational and capital budget in conjunction with Executive Director

•         Demonstrates a leadership role in the marketing of rehabilitation services

•         Participates in community activities

•         Publicly and professionally support rehabilitative services and Florida Hospital Medical Center  in media and public relations activities and to present a positive image of rehabilitative services in all medical staff, hospital and community arenas

•         May participate in their professional organizations

•         May be required to perform other duties as assigned or needed

What You Will Need:

•         Bachelors, Masters or Clinical Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy required.

•         Minimum 5-7 years of clinical experience required. 

•         Advanced preparation of certifications in clinical specialty preferred 

•         Valid driver’s license required. 

•         Current Florida licensure required.

•         Maintain current BLS/CPR certification. 

Job Summary:

The Rehab Services Manager leads day-to-day operations and upholds clinical practice standards of the Therapy Services Department. Provides positive leadership and problem solving skills and is responsible for continuous quality improvement, budgeting, customer and staff feedback, training and development.  The manager works cooperatively with other departments, the community and professional organizations to ensure quality services.  Adheres to performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of AdventHealth Fish Memorial
