Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Nights

You will be responsible for:

  • Prescribed medication via inhalation in accordance with the physician's orders.
  • Oxygen therapy in accordance with departmental oxygen protocol.
  • Induction and collection of sputum specimen.
  • Performs and assures accuracy of arterial blood gas puncture and analysis.
  • Performs setup of Holter monitors and performs electrocardiograms.
  • Ensures that blood gas results that exceed panic values are immediately communicated to the physician or nurse and entered in the panic value section of the computer.
  • Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high quality patient care.


What you will need:

  • Successful completion of a Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Minimum proficiency must be met within 3 months, and extension may be granted at the discretion of the Cardiopulmonary Manager.
  • Must have valid Florida license as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
  • Current BLS from American Heart Association
  • Requires no previous experience

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist I will deliver safe and effective care, which is consistent with the standards of care for this discipline and in accordance with Florida Statute 468. This position requires the Respiratory Therapist I to be knowledgeable and proficient in the treatment of respiratory and cardiovascular disorders for inpatients and outpatients under the direction of the Respiratory Therapist II and III, Cardiopulmonary Manager and the Cardiopulmonary Medical and Administrative Directors.
