Job Summary:

Responsible for analyzing financial statement trends.  Prepares the global and departmental budget at the direction of the Controller, assisting leadership in building departmental budgets.  Performs as resource for non-financial people in areas of reimbursement,  payment methodologies, and costing.  Uses cost/managerial accounting techniques to review and explain productivity.  The individual in this position should work efficiently and effectively with peers in finance, department leaders, and executives.  Performs all tasks at a high level of accuracy.  Recognizes the need for teamwork and functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Analyzes financial statement trends and reports findings to Controller.

  • Identifies and researches financial variances in a timely manner.

  • Evaluates the reimbursement of hospital programs to determine the profitability of service lines.

  • Assists managers in understanding hospital reimbursement systems and payment methodologies.

  • Educates and advises managers/supervisors regarding calculation of hospital net patient revenue.

  • Uses cost/managerial accounting techniques to review and explain productivity reporting to non-financial people.

  • Prepares the global and departmental budget at the direction of the Controller, assisting leadership in building departmental budgets.

  • Performs, as necessary, “reasonable estimates” when all detailed facts are not available or cannot be determined.

  • Participates in preparation of documentation for regulatory organizations/agencies such as AHA, and in special projects as assigned by the Controller.

  • Supports the mission of the organization by participating in community and hospital-based programs.

  • Prepares reports as needed, reviewing work for reasonability and producing highly predictable, accurate results.

  • Complies with department safety policies and procedures.  Responsible to help ensure that the safety and physical well being of patients, family members, visitors and co-workers are maintained.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
